mon-night -> flight of the conchords concert at berkeley
tues-night -> visit parents
weds-night -> st. vincent concert at bimbo's 365
tonight -> RECOVERY
i've been operating on minimal sleep all week/end, and now it's finally catching up to me...
this is the first time i've been to fanime in many, many years, and, let me just say, everything looks different from behind a booth at artists alley. i was there each day all day to help sell baau down books (by local bay area artists!) and recruit new members, which was a great experience. over the weekend i slowly honed my salesman spiel, and while i personally sold a pitiful number of books, i'd like to think that we had a good recruitment drive.
i also opened up "FREE COMMISSIONS (ASK MIKE)", the very first and official free commissions (ask mike) booth. i didn't think is was right for me to charge money (and neither does the law, for i did not possess a seller's permit), but it was a great excuse to keep practicing. i ended up with a huge influx of requests on monday, and this week i'm still slowly drawing my way through the list, hoping against hope that i don't butcher anyone's likeness or character designs...
